This little Cherry Laurel lives in the parking lot at Vancouver General Hospital. I really enjoy seeing the dark red, and black berries at this time of year. Mid summer, 2025.

The plant in the image appears to be Cherry Laurel (Prunus laurocerasus), also sometimes called English Laurel.
Key features that match:
- Glossy, lance-shaped evergreen leaves.
- Small round berries that start green, turn red, then black when ripe.
- Woody stems and dense foliage.
⚠ Caution: While the berries may look like edible cherries, most parts of this plant (including the seeds inside the berries) contain cyanogenic compounds and are toxic if eaten in quantity.
